Claudia Hayes is an accomplished procurement leader with over 20 years of global experience across R&D procurement, sourcing, and digital transformation. She currently serves as R&D Procurement Director at UCB, where she focuses on Early Discovery and Preclinical categories, driving strategic supplier partnerships and innovation to support emerging scientific needs.

Claudia previously held senior roles at AstraZeneca and IQVIA, including serving as AstraZeneca’s R&D Procurement Director for Clinical Technology. In this capacity, she led the global strategy for eCOA, PRO Consulting, and supported Digital Health and Decentralized Clinical Trials, while championing sustainability, supplier engagement, and large-scale procurement transformation initiatives. She also managed a global source-to-contract team and partnered closely with stakeholders to align procurement strategy with scientific and operational priorities.

Earlier in her career, Claudia served as a Digital Mission Lead at UCB, where she spearheaded digital business transformation efforts, including startup pilots and proof-of-concept programs to modernize procurement processes.

With strong expertise in analytics, operations, project management, and cross-functional leadership, Claudia combines technical acumen with an energetic, collaborative approach. She holds a diploma in Digital Business Transformation from Vlerick Business School and a certificate in Artificial Intelligence from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. Passionate about innovation in the pharma environment, she is dedicated to advancing the impact and value of R&D procurement.
